Adobe Illustrator can be used to accomplish many different design tasks, from illustration to app development. From print to web, or building assets that will find their way into other applications —this course can you started & moving on your projects.
Our beginner-friendly course curriculum is designed for anyone interested in learning core concepts and techniques that can be applied to an array of work & any workflow using powerful design software & include unique perks including feedback from an industry professional, and a Wacom tablet to take home for future projects!

This course will take place at Austin School of Film in our iMac computer lab with 24” iMac computers + M1 processor. All materials, equipment, software, and computer provided for the duration of the class. All materials, equipment, software, and computer provided for the duration of the class.
INSTRUCTOR: Rosie Di Wu (she/her) is a world traveler from Australia turned illustrator and animator. She is now based in Austin, Texas where she lives with her husband and daughter. She started her creative journey in graphic design before turning her focus full time to animation and illustration. She has rotoscoped for Swerve Pictures, storyboarded for Sony commercials, illustrated a book of Australian poetry, and illustrates for community festivals. Most recently, she worked on a piece of animation for Rolling Stone and Young Henry. She enjoys character design, painting and life drawing.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND: This class is intended for people ages 17+ who are brand new to Illustrator, as well as basic users who wish to fill in gaps in their knowledge.
PRE-REQUISITES: none necessary; all levels welcome!
CERTIFICATE: DVCP core class
PAYMENT PLANS: Payment plans are available to anyone for any class or workshop. We suggest 25% of the tuition price as your “down payment”. The additional balance can then be split in up to 1-4 equal payments over the course of weeks or months. All payment plans are customized, to inquire & get started on a plan, please email classes@austinfilmschool.org.
SUPPLIES: all supplies provided for the duration of the course. Students must have access to computer to complete course virtually.
