Austin School of Film’s Digital Video Certificate Program (DVCP) provides students ages 18+ an affordable pathway into creative media industries. From creating their own films, cultivating media skills, and working in the vast world of digital media and film.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

The core philosophy at Austin School of Film is learning-by-doing: we design truly innovative curricula by combining traditional film school teaching methods with a new, uniquely hands-on approach.

Certificates represent an average 355 hours of in-classroom training. Our certificate is designed with the working student in mind— students have the freedom to customize their skillset & learn at their own pace, so your class schedule is always perfectly tailored to fit your lifestyle.

IMPORTANT DETAILS ▾

• You only pay as you go for the classes you are registering for - there are no lump sums owed up front other than a one-time registration fee.

• Students are granted up to three years to earn their certificate with most (roughly 75%) successfully complete the program within 24 months or less.

• Our certificate is designed with the working student in mind— students have the freedom to customize their skillset & learn at their own pace, so your class schedule is always perfectly tailored to fit your lifestyle.

• There are no registration deadlines or any prerequisites for initial Certificate Program enrollment as classes run year-round with options in all quarters to get started.

• There is a one-time, non-refundable registration fee of $75.

We'll help you to build a portfolio through project-based classes and give you many chances to attend networking events with other creators and students. With that said, you will only get out of this program as much as you put in. It is extremely important for you to put the work in to develop your own creative skills outside of the classroom and focus when inside the classroom.

Our program is designed to fit every person’s individual goals at a pace customized for each unique schedule, so we are happy to provide 1-1 consults for registered DVCP students to help strategize so you can hit the ground running in the right direction. Once you get the basics of production & post-production down, you can start exploring more intermediate and advanced CREATIVE CORE and ELECTIVE options.
