What is Direct Animation?

Direct Animation is the direct application of materials directly onto 16mm filmstrips - from such as painting, scratching, using markers, ink, plus a myriad of other experimental techniques. The result? Amazing abstract moving images and animations! Whether you’re an artist of another medium be it photography, painting, or animation or you’re just curious how to create 16mm direct animation or even what 16mm direct animation is, we’ve designed an extremely beginner-friendly workshop for you.

INSTRUCTOR: Faiza Kracheni is a multimedia artist and musician living and working in Austin, Texas.
